Why I Pet Sit & My Ideal House Sit

Because every creature deserves a guardian who understands the sacred art of the sunbeam nap. I may not have pets of my own (a nomadic life has its sacrifices), but that just means I pour all my affection into yours. Consider me the favorite aunt who shows up with treats, knows exactly where to scratch, and never judges a dog’s questionable taste in squeaky toys.

Duration: 2 weeks to 3 months (long enough for your cat to decide if I’m worthy)
Location: Apartments or small homes in or near city centers (a New Yorker’s comfort zone)
Pets: Specializing in “spirited” personalities: the shy, the sassy, the perpetually unimpressed. No creature is too opinionated.

Since I work remotely, I’m home often, perfect for pets who prefer their humans within paw’s reach 🐾

If you love your cats, are anxious about leaving them, and want them to have love as well as meticulous care while you are away, Phoebe is the one. She is the cat whisperer. (The only reason I’m not saying “cat and dog” is that I don’t have a dog right now.) Besides being a calm, alert, and thorough care giver who takes pet owners’ complex, even weird instructions in stride and doesn’t miss a beat, she really loves animals, and shows them love, and they love her. When I come back my cats are happy to see me, but they are also obviously happy. It’s such a luxury for me to be away and not wonder or worry at all about their emotional as well as physical well-being, to know that the care they are getting is rock solid and genuinely enthusiastic, and to have a window into their life-Phoebe reports and sends photos often, not dutifully, but with delight.
